Using Clik!™ Disks

Opening the Clik!™ Disk Cases

To open the Clik™ disk case, squeeze the top and bottom together as illustrated.

Inserting and Ejecting Clik!™ Disks

To insert the Clik! disk into the Clik! drive, gently insert the disk (label side up and rounded edge first) until it "clicks."

To eject the Clik! disk from the Clik! drive, gently push in the Clik! disk until it "clicks" and the drive releases it.

CAUTION:

  • Never pull the disk out until it has been released by the drive.
  • Never eject the Clik! disk while the drive is reading or writing.
  • Never insert the disk backwards (black tabs first).

Handling Clik!™ Disks

Operating Conditions for Clik!™ Disks and Drive

Let the Clik! drive and disks adjust to operating temperature -4° F to 149° F
(-20° C to 65° C) before use. Do not operate the drive when condensation is present on the drive or disks. (Condensation usually occurs when moving from outside heat to inside air conditioning. If this is the case, wait a few minutes until the condensation evaporates.) Operating temperatures -4° F to 149° F (-20° C to 65° C); non-operating temperatures (storage of drive) -40° F to 149° F (-40° C to 65° C).


Using the Clik!™ PC Card Drive

Removing the Clik!™ PC Card Drive

Eject the Clik! disk and then press the eject button for the PC Card Drive.
If your notebook computer stops responding, see the
Troubleshooting section.

Where does the Clik!™ PC Card Drive show up on my computer?

The Clik! PC Card Drive appears as a drive letter (e.g., E:\) under Explorer and My Computer on your notebook computer.

How do I save, copy, move, and delete files from the Clik!™ disks?

Clik! disks function like other removable disks (e.g., floppy and Zip® disks) when you want to copy, save, move, or delete files. After inserting the Clik! disk into the Clik! PC Card Drive, you can use all the Windows functions (e.g., save, copy, paste, drag and drop, delete).

Handling the Clik!™ PC Card Drive

  • Handle your Clik! drive with care.
  • Do not drop, bend, or expose to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
  • Insert only Clik! disks into the Clik! drive.
  • Always transport your drive in a protective case or your notebook computer.
