The disk images in this archive are for the Sony SMC-70 computer from 1983. They come from different sources but have all been tested on a real machine. These are in Imagedisk format. You can write these to normal disks from a normal PC: * Write using Imagedisk from pure DOS * Use any media you like - I used new in box high density 1.44MB disks. * If using high density disks, put a piece of tape over the second window (the one without the slider) or the disk will not read/write at the right density. * Disable double-stepping. * Some PCs have weird floppy disk controllers. I used a P3 Dell XPS with no problems, but my 386 Eduquest threw errors. If you get errors, try another machine. Two images are from disks that came with a machine that had previously been used by a university. Those are: SMC70D1.IMD ================= Boot / titler disk. Contains three utilities, VT, VMENU and VEDIT. I could only get the first one to run. VT is the video titler app. It will hang on startup unless there's a readable disk in the B: drive, but it doesn't matter what's on it. SMC70D2 is a good choice, since it contains working data files for the titler. Some basic docs for VT: The status bar at the bottom with e.g. " Edit / Display / **** / **** / Quit" is an F-key reference. The above would put Edit on F1, Display on F2, and Quit on F5. The **** are blank keys. Upon launch you'll be asked to pick a file; just type in a filename if you have a data disk loaded. The titling interface is the clunkiest thing on earth, good luck.
